MECHANICAL/ ELECTRICAL ENGINEER QKR Namibia-Navachab Gold Mine, located at Karibib, halfway between Windhoek and Swakopmund, is a modern mine committed to real growth of its business and employees. The mine seeks the services of well experienced and qualified Mechanical / Electrical Engineer. The position reports to the Maintenance Engineer.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Planning, coordinating and execution of the engineering management system & plan.
• Developing and executing maintenance policies and standards for relevant components.
• Applying and maintaining relevant asset management principles and processes.
• Implementing and maintaining effective cost management and commercial principles.
• Upholding excellent employee relations by following the principle of care and respect for all.
• Achieving production goals by working closely with the production teams.
• Implementing and maintaining cost control and continuous improvement measures.
• Responsible for the installation and commissioning of operational new projects.
• Managing and maintenance of SHE standards in accordance with the mines' SHE Policy and all government legislation.
• Manage and maintain appropriate service standards within contractor service level agreements and regularly review such contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Have a relevant Engineering degree/diploma (Mechanical / Electrical) with 5 years relevant plant maintenance experience, preferably within the mining industry.
• Have sound understanding of applicable legislation (GCC will be an advantage).
• Have sound knowledge and understanding of metallurgical processing plant equipment, operations and related machinery.
• Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Have a valid code B driver's license.
• Be computer literate (preference SAP knowledge).
• Be fully conversant in English.
